TANCONSULT LTD

TANCONSULT was founded in 1977 by Eng. G H Alliy handling smaller projects such as industrial estates, godowns and blocks of flats. Within less than a decade TANCONSULT under the dynamic leadership of Ing. GH Alliy became one of Tanzania’s leading consulting engineering firms. With this impressive history, TANCONSULT has earned itself a reputation for efficiency and professionalism.

By combining the resources of highly qualified engineers and professionals, the firm has successfully completed a wide variety of civil engineering and building projects throughout Tanzania. TANCONSULT not only provide a service of technical excellence, but also with an emphasis on quality, appropriate technology, innovative and appropriate engineering solutions.

As a part of its rapid expansion, TANCONSULT constructed its own head office in Dar es Salaam in 1987, incorporating the most modern technical equipment. Through its close association with international engineering consulting companies, TANCONSULT engineers and technicians have been trained in the use of Computer and CAD technology.

By mid-90’s, the firm had about 50 professional staff working on a variety of building structures, roads, irrigation, electrical and other engineering projects. This is when Tanzania embarked upon massive economic recovery programme involving major rehabilitation of the country’s infrastructure. TANCONSULT workforce has been reduced to almost half due to reduced work load as a result of the ongoing process of privatisation.

Current staff consists five Consulting Civil/Structural Engineers registered with Engineer’s Registration Board, three registered as Professional Structural/Civil Engineers and three Engineers aspiring for registration with the Engineers Registration Board. Twelve personnel are administrative and supporting staff. Where specific discipline is not available in-house TANCONSULT engages other specialists on contract basis were dictated by needs of specific projects.
